Dato’ Hakem Arabi graduated from the University of Tasmania, Australia and was subsequently admitted to the High Court of Malaya. Having gained sufficient experience at the Bar, he then went on to set up Messrs Hakem Arabi & Associates in Kajang in 1997. The following year, he expanded his practice and established a branch in Kuala Lumpur. Hakem Arabi & Associates has expanded to where it is today with more than 40 lawyers and 5 branches. Dato’ Hakem Arabi was exposed to litigation in his early years of practice and subsequently did corporate conveyancing.

Dato’ Hakem Arabi advises many companies and financial institutions in the area of Islamic banking which includes arbitration and sukuk (Islamic bonds). Dato’ Hakem Arabi also has an outstanding experienced in offshore banking and advises many oil and gas companies. Dato’ Hakem Arabi also advises cooperative societies, municipal council particularly in regards to their new laws and implementations. He believes that education is the key to success and the platform for individuals to grow out of their shackles. His passion has lead him to volunteer at a NGO where he teaches English on a weekly basis to those in the rural areas
